Abstract:
ObjectiveTo evaluate the application of the Chinese version of the general practitioners cognitive function assessment scale(GPCOG-C) screening of mild cognitive impairment(MCI) among elderly population in the community. MethodsOne hundred and ten patients with mild cognitive impairment diagnosed during health check-up in our center from March 2019 to August 2019, and 112 normal elderly subjects in cognitive screening during the same period were enrolled in the study. The GPCOG-C scores of the two groups were compared and the correlation of GPCOG-C scores with mini-mental state examination(MMSE) and Montreal cognitive assessment-basic(MoCA-B) scores were analyzed. ResultsThe total GPCOG-C scores and sub-item scores of the control group were higher than those of the MCI group(P<0.05). The GPCOG-C scores of the two groups were significantly correlated with MMSE and MoCA-B scores(r=0.807 and 0.866, respectively, all P<0.01). The area under ROC curve(AUC) of GPCOG-C total score in diagnosis of MCI was 0.954, taking 12 as GPCOG-C total score cut-off value, the sensitivity was 86.6% and the specificity was 89.1%. ConclusionThe Chinese version GPCOG scores are significantly lower in the elderly with mild cognitive impairment than those in the normal elderly, and the Chinese version of GPCOG scale can be used for MCI screening among elderly population in the community.
