Abstract: |
Urine-derived stem cells(USCs) are a type of stem cells with good expansion ability, multi-differentiation potential and paracrine function. USCs have attracted increasing attention because they can be easily and non-invasively obtained from urine samples with less ethics restrictions. USCs, an ideal source of stem cells, are expected to be widely used in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Extracellular vesicles(EVs) are secreted by stem cells through paracrine pathways and have similar functions as stem cells. Many studies have shown that EVs play an important role in intercellular communication, immune regulation, inflammatory response, proliferation, apoptosis and so on. In this article, we intend to review the latest research progress and application prospect of USCs and USCs-EVs in regenerative medicine. |
