Abstract: |
Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers in women, and persistent high-risk human papillomavirus(HR-HPV) infection has been implicated in the development of cervical cancer. DNA methylation as the most important epigenetic modification, has an important regulatory function on chromatin structure and gene transcription, and aberrant DNA methylation levels and distribution patterns are closely related to a variety of human diseases such as cancer. In recent years, there has been an increasing number of domestic and international studies on human papillomavirus DNA methylation and host DNA methylation in cervical cancer, and it has been found that DNA methylation plays an important role in the evolution of cervical cancer. This article presents a review on the mechanisms of DNA methylation in HPV-associated cervical cancer and its current status in clinical application. |
