About Journal

Journal of Tongji University (Medical Science) (ISSN 2097-4345; CN 31-1901/R) was founded in 1980. It is a comprehensive academic journal in the field of medicine, governed by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and sponsored by Tongji University. It is distributed domestically and internationally. The journal’s previous name was Journal of Shanghai Tiedao University.

Aims and Scope

The journal welcomes contributions from authors nationwide and overseas, focusing on basic and clinical medical research. Non-academic articles are not accepted. Regular columns of the journal include basic research, clinical research, survey research, and reviews. Readers are mainly medical professionals involved in clinical practice, teaching, and research.

Publication Frequency

The journal is a bimonthly publication, with the print edition published on the 25th of each even-numbered month. Articles are made available online on the journal's website around the beginning of the next month.

Awards

Since 1980, the journal has received numerous awards in various science and technology journal evaluations. In 2018, it was honored with the "Third Shanghai University Excellent Science and Technology Journal" and the "China University Excellent Science and Technology Journal" awards. In 2019, it was recognized as the "Outstanding Team of Science and Technology Journals in Chinese Universities." In 2020, it again received the "China University Excellent Science and Technology Journal" title. In 2021, it was again honored with the "Fourth Shanghai University Excellent Science and Technology Journal" and received the“Shanghai Excellent Journal Editing and Proofreading Quality Award”.

Currently, the journal is a member of the Shanghai Periodicals Association, the Shanghai Society for Science and Technology Periodicals, and the Society of China Journals.
