Abstract: |
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of pelvic biofeedback and electric stimulation in treatment of stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Methods Thirteen patients with stress urinary incontinence were treated with pelvic biofeedback and electric stimulation using Stimogyn BIt 2001 device from December 2006 to May 2010. The therapeutic efficacy was evaluated. Results The effective rate was 84.6% and cure rate was 54. 8% after one course of treatment. There was a higher effect rate in premenopausal patients than postmenopausal patients ( 100.0% vs 77.8% ), in SUI I patients than SUI 11 patients ( 100.0% vs 75.0% ) and in patients with response to electric stimulation than patients without response ( 100. 0% vs 33.3% ). There was no difference in levator ani muscle electromyography for non-response patients before and after treatment ( P 〉 0. 05 ). Conclusion Pelvic biofeedback and electric stimulation is an effective treatment for SUI patients, except those without response to electric stimulation. |
